Elected as a Congressman from Georgia, Newt Gingrich rose through the ranks to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1995 until his resignation. He launched a surprise presidential bid after staying in the spotlight for years, and attended the very Republican presidential candidate debate in Denver with Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul that one Eric Cartman crashed for 'faith hilling'. He quickly took the papers to decry the act as 'pase' according to Stan Marsh. Gingrich returned for the subsequent debate with the Oh Long Johnson Cat and participated in the fad himself.
He later became a surrogate for Herbert Garrison's presidential campaign.
- "What he said, which I find mildly amazing, was that he thought I would have a hard time debating Barack Obama." (Faith Hilling)
